Spain is known for its stunning beaches. In fact, the Spanish coastline is the country’s most attractive feature. Every year thousands of people from around the world flock to Spain to enjoy the beautiful sun-filled holiday with their family. Here is our pick for the top beach holidays in Spain. Pedro Lopez from InmoJavea[1] Of Javea outlines his families favourite beach destinations in Spain.

The Asturias

Situated far from the typical tourist trails, the stunning cliff-edged, emerald-green eastern coastline of Asturias boasts some of the most exquisite beaches in Spain. Some of the key features of the area include rocky coves and low-key beach towns. If you are a keen surfer you will find that the Asturias checks every single box for the perfect beach holiday.

Langre, Cantabria

This area is hidden away amid the tranquil, rural country of the Costa Trasmiera, Langre’s wild, secluded beaches are arguably Cantabria’s most spectacular. Here you will find that endless green meadows top sheer limestone cliffs and two golden arcs of sand, fronted by thundering waves that make this a top spot for surfing. Due to the isolation of the area, it was originally a huge hit with nudists.

West Coast Cantabria

When you visit the western Cantabria’s beaches you will be forgiven for believing you are in Sydney and not Spain. The one clear exception to this is that the 50km of the west coast Cantabria is dotted with stunning fishing towns and backed by peaceful green hills sprinkled with roaming cattle. Some of the farmsteads in the area are centuries old. One of the most attractive points of this area for many visitors is that much of the coastline falls within protected natural parkland, this ensures that the beaches are among the most pristine you will find anywhere on earth.

Tamariu, Costa Brava

If you are a fan on secluded covers and board stretches of golden beaches then this is the area for you. Tamariu features coral pink rocks which give is a unique look and feel. The area is situated far from the local crowds and some of the larger resorts. To get here you will need to drive approximately an hour north of Barcelona, but the beach which is situated close to the French border has some of the clearest waters in the Mediterranean. Additionally, some of the small bays still have the feel of the fishing villages they originally were.

Playa Del Ingl├ęs, Gran Canaria

Playa delIngl├ęs and the dunes of Maspalomas have been attracting sun worshippers since the heady, happy days of the 1960s, and with good reason. This beach features seven miles of honeyed beach which transform into seductive sand dunes.

CalaMesquida, Majorca

CalaMesquida, on the north-eastern tip of the island, is a stunning beach of pale sand, framed by dunes and pine forests. If you need to stay somewhere with excellent facilities but want to explore a quieter part of Majorca, the Viva CalaMesquida Resort should fit the bill. This beach is simply a must for any traveler.
